On January 25th, we had the opportunity to engage with Jerono and Tanvi, students of architecture from the University of Cardiff, who were in Thrissur as part of a 10-day immersive study to understand how "liveable" the city of Thrissur is.
As part of their study into urban life and sustainability, Jerono and Tanvi reached out to us to better understand local voices, especially from youth networks and to get an idea of how Thrissur is perceived by its younger citizens: what they value, what they find lacking, and how they envision the future of the city they call home.
LCT co-creator Sukanya Venugopal interacted with them, the conversation touched upon areas like the city’s cultural diversity, lives and livelihoods and political legacy and included aspects where it still needs to grow, particularly in creating more inclusive public spaces, encouraging participatory governance, and protecting natural and cultural commons amidst rapid urban expansion.
